In order to provide more flexibility, all of our programs are taught in quarters; and we offer both day and evening classes.

Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology

The Electronic Engineering Technology program is designed to give students the skills and knowledge that they need to lead technical careers in the field of Electronic Engineering Technologist. They will receive fundamental knowledge in basic electronics, and then progress to advanced fields of study in wireless communication systems, industrial systems, and computer systems.

In order to master the more advanced courses, the student needs to thoroughly grasp the concepts of the fundamentals. In order to succeed as an Electronics Engineering Technologist, a student must first master these fundamentals. Students will learn all about:

  • The vocabulary and symbols of electronic AC/DC theory
  • Active and passive circuit electronic devices
  • Solid state surfaces, and digital fundamentals

Upon mastering the basics, the student will advance through a series of complex courses designed to better prepare him or her for a position in a diverse and complicated field. Almost all common electronic systems fall into one of three categories. The first category of electronic systems is computers, which are electronic systems that can both store and process data. Secondly, there are communications systems that are built to send and receive information. The third category is industrial systems, which are meant to be used in manufacturing settings.

Graduates of this program will be well prepared to start careers as: personal repair technicians, software and hardware installers, help desk personnel, field service technicians of different communication systems, lab bench technicians, security system installers, fiber-optics system installers, factory maintenance technicians, industrial robotics programmers, city-traffic engineers, assembly-line repair technicians, as well as technical sales representatives.
