New England Institute of Technology

We utilize a combination of hands on training and technical expertise in the teaching of our program. Over 35 different Associate's and Bachelor's of Science degree programs all have one thing in common: instructors and educators who are dedicated to bringing a slice of the real world experience to their students.
You can earn your Associate's Degree in just a year and a half, or get your Bachelor's of Science degree in only 3 years. We are constantly investing in top of the line labs and equipment to encourage your success.
New England Tech will give you all the support you need, from admissions to financial aid to employment assistance. Certainly the world will evolve into the future. When you graduate, you will be leaving with a technical education on the cutting edge and carrying the critical thinking skills employers look for.
Electronics Engineering Technology: Associate in Science Degree
Through our associate in science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology program, you can prepare for a career in one of today's most vital fields. You will gain a knowledge base in electronics during the first five quarters. In your last semester, students decide to pursue one of two options: continue schooling to earn a bachelor's degree or enter the workforce with an associate's degree.
The associate degree program was created to give students entering the field of electronics a sound, comprehensive foundation in the skills employers are seeking in an electronics technician. Our program will teach you how to be successful in this highly technical field, with classes in everything from basic passive circuits to Printed Circuit Board Design. We have developed laboratory projects that provide hands-on experience, simulating actual job conditions. You can take part in these laboratory projects in classes such as telecommunications, digital electronics, data and acquisition control, microprocessor control, programmable logic control (PLC) and robotic control systems.
Our program turns out well-qualified graduates who are competitive in a variety of fields, including research and development, product design, product testing, field service, manufacturing of complex electronic assemblies and systems, installation, marketing, and customer service.
Electrical Technology: Associate in Science Degree
This Associate's Degree course prepares pupils for beginning work in the electrical field.
Graduates may go on to work as a
- construction electrician
- maintenance electrician
- power system technician
- electrical relay technician
- electrical research technician
- electrical distribution sales
- electro-mechanical technician
- electrical technical support
- or an entry level controls engineer
We integrate the use of computers into the lessons in the Electrical Technology Associates Degree program so that the student will have practice calculating circuits, creating working models that would simulate real circuit conditions, and supporting classroom lectures and demonstrations As part of the Electrical Technology Associates Degree program, computer programs are integrated into the coursework to permit the practice of circuit calculations, to create working models that replicate real circuit conditions, and to sustain classroom lectures and demonstrations. A detailed study of the safety regulations, protocols and process mentioned in the National, Massachusetts and Rhode Island Electrical Codes as well as the OSHA standards for the construction and general industries is of equal significance.
Under the Electrical Technology laboratory students are given various projects to develop skills and to stimulate learning in real life situations. The courses in Electrical Technology laboratory and projects vary from elementary breadboard experiments to advanced control circuits using logic of PLC ladders, enabling the student to learn and develop wiring techniques on actual job conditions. During the course, students will install lighting, power, network, and control devices that are used in many environments, including residential, business, and industry.
You may achieve your Associates Degree in Electrical Technology in as little as 18 months, days or evenings. When important prerequisites are met, those who graduate from this program are allowed to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in the field of Electronics Engineering Technology.
Electronics Engineering Technology: Bachelor of Science Degree
The Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology is devised mainly for students who have completed an Associate's Degree in areas affiliated with Electronics or Electrical Technology. Our Electronics Engineering Technology Program participants will acquire and demonstrate competence in using oral and written skills, in both the normal laboratory performance and theory testing.
Subjects that are studied in the lectures and laboratory include electronic components, subsystems and systems. The prominence is on Electronics investigation and their behavior within a system. Students in the Electronics Engineering Technology Bachelor's Degree program develop skills that make them stand out to possible employers through classes in applying complex communications, process manufacturing, and working with micro-controller systems. Development and creation of individual design projects representing the applied skills obtained throughout the program is expected of students by the end of the Electronics Engineering Technology Bachelors Degree program.
Professional training in product development, product design, operations, or technical service is provided to graduates of the Electronics Engineering Technology Bachelors Degree program. The job of an engineering technologist is to help a professional engineer or scientist develop products and techniques from scientific knowledge and craftsmanship. You can achieve a Bachelor's Degree in the filed of Electronics Engineering Technology in as soon as three years either, in the evening or during the day.
