The DeVry Institute of Technology’s Calgary campus is one of 90 locations offered by DeVry’s extensive professional education program across North America. The Institute offers a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology that has kept it in a position of leadership in the field of electronics education. In fact, 30 percent of all electronics engineers studying in a program approved by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) are doing so at the DeVry Institute of Technology.
The Electronics Engineer Technology program is a three-year degree that is intended to provide students with the skills that major players in the electronics industry are looking for at hiring time. Participants are introduced to the most up to date techniques, equipment, and tools, including the Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite (ELVIS) from National Instruments, and are also given a laptop to use for the duration of their studies. Hands-on learning combined with a deep rooting in electronics theory and circuit design are part of a well-rounded curriculum that allows students to get ahead when it comes to planning their careers as electricians. The school provides excellent instructors as well as access to a number of robotics and engineering groups to help further hone the skills of students.
The DeVry Institute of Technology program is accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board, which is a part of the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists. 94 percent of all Electronics Engineer Technology graduates have found employment within the industry, and the school prepares all students for complete certification as technicians or technologists once they have been employed for a period of two years. The school makes use of a full year schedule which enables participants to accelerate their learning and graduation and complete the program as quickly as possible. Scholarships and career counseling are also available from the institute.
