Electrical Technician : Diploma

Electrical services are a continuous requirement in homes and businesses throughout the world, creating a steady demand for skilled electrical technicians After you complete your training at the Career Centers of Texas, you will be prepared to start in an entry-level position as an electrical technician in a variety of settings, including building design and construction, commercial and residential construction, general building construction, and construction equipment and supplies.

A Hands-On Curriculum

The program focuses on training graduates to fully understand the National Electrical Codes, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines and standards. Basic electricity, residential and commercial wiring and electrical layout, and motors and controls used in industrial facilities will be the focuses of your training. The training program gives you real-life experience in simulation labs, as well as intensive classroom training; you will be prepared to work installing service entrances, single- and multiphase power supplies, handle transformer connections and service disconnects, and the wiring of both delta and wye transformers.
